How to prepare Sesame seeds powder

Every Indian state has its own pickles, chutneys and dry powders (powders); Andhra Pradesh is no exception. Today I am introducing you to Sevula Pudi or roasted sesame powder.

Popular in South India, freshly prepared chutney powder or gunpowder is made with a unique taste. It has the goodness of white sesame seeds, which gives it a nutty taste and also makes it nutrient dense.

Health is the top priority in one’s life. Along with moderate exercise and a good nutritious diet, natural health supplements are also important. In the ongoing struggle to balance professional and personal life, health plays a vital role. Nutritious plant sources can be considered a good option to maintain good physical and mental health. Sesame seed powder is a powerful source of nutrition. It comes with several health benefits.

Precautions

Keep some distance from fire. Don’t get hurry and don’t touch hot kadai with direct hands

Note : Sesame seeds powder out put will definitely come outstanding when you add salt as per your taste and should follow measures as exactly said

Ingredients

  • oil 2 tbs
  • red chillies 25
  • 2tbs chickpea split
  • 2tbs coriander seeds
  • curry leaves
  • sesame seeds 1/4 kg
  • garlic cloves 8
  • cumin seeds 1 tbs
  • salt

Process

  • Step 1 : Take a kadai add 2 tbs of oil into it and let it heat under low flame
  • Step 2 : Now fry 25 red chillies in heated oil under low flame and keep fried chillies aside
  • Step 3 : fry 2 tbs chickpea split beans and 2 tbs coriander seeds in oil and add curry leaves into kadai, when everything fried keep ingredients aside
  • Step 4 : Now the oil will be almost over in frying process (as you read just now)also no problem, sesame seeds doesn’t require oil. If, you have oil more than 1tbs in kadai take off the remaining oil and fry 1/4 KG sesame seeds for 7 mins under low flame. You should continuously mix the sesame seeds while frying (to prevent sesame seeds over frying)
  • Step 5 : Now wait until all the fried ingredients gets into normal temperature
  • Step 6 : Now take mixer grinder and add fried red chillies, chickpea split beans, coriander seeds, curry leaves also 8 garlic cloves and cumin seeds 1tbs then grind
  • Step 7 : Now add fried sesame seeds and salt to taste, then grind well. Mix the ingredients at every stop of mixer
  • Step 8 : add 2tbs oil into kadai. When oil heated, fry the grinded sesame seeds powder for 5 mins under low flame. Here, you can also add salt (when salt level is not up to your taste). Stove off
  • Step 9 : let the Sesame seeds powder get into room temperature, then store in an airtight container

Note : You can store this powder for 2 months (out of fridge)
