Today I’m going to share you sankranthi special recipe, Janthikalu/Murukulu. Janthikalu is a popular South Indian savory snack, especially enjoyed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These crispy and crunchy snacks are traditionally made during festivals like Diwali, Sankranthi, or special occasions.

Here I’m making a special variety of Murukku (Janthikalu) that guarantees a crispy and crunchy texture. This recipe uses a perfect blend of rice flour, urad dal, and a touch of butter for added richness. With a pinch of ajwain, cumin seeds, and green chilli it’s not just tasty but also aromatic.

Ingratiation

  • Murukku
  • 3/4th cup roasted chana dal
  • grind soft
  • 2 cups dry rice flour
  • Fry under low flame for 5 mins
  • 2 cup water
  • Boil until water gets very hot
  • Rice flour
  • Grinded powder
  • Salt to taste (3/4th tbs)
  • Chilli powder to taste (1tbs)
  • Ajwain
  • Keep it aside for 10 min
  • Oil for deep-fry
  • Apply oil for chakli maker
  • Deep-fry under medium flame
